WHAT IS MENSTRUATION?

Menstruation is a monthly shedding of a female's uterus lining that lasts about 3 to 5 days on an average and contains blood and tissue that exits her body through the cervix and vagina.

WHY MENSTRUATION HYGIENE IS IMPORTANT ?

Hygiene-related practices of women during menstruation are of considerable importance, as it has a considerable impact in terms of increased vulnerability to reproductive tract infections (RTI). The relationship of socio-economic status, menstrual hygiene practices and RTI is very critical. Nowadays, women, especially from  poor background, suffer most from reproductive tract infections and its complications, which is often the infection, that is transmitted to the offspring of the pregnant mother.

VISION OF THE FOUNDATION

- To promote menstrual hygiene amongst marginalized women of our society so that diseases like reproductive tract infections in women are       reduced and good health is promoted.

Propagation of awareness and knowledge about importance of Menstrual Hygiene and Hygienic practices amongst the vulnerable females of     the poor background by organising free medical camps and through pamphlet.

- To provide environment friendly and best quality sanitary napkins to the needy women at a reasonable cost.

- Disseminate information about the use and destruction of sanitary pads to these women.

- Various skill development for Women Empowerment
